They've been working on tummy time, and have finally started to look at each other, although they still aren't really interacting.
Lucinda is loving tummy time these days, and has great head control. Malcolm currently hates tummy time with the heat of a thousand firey suns. He screams the second his belly hits the blanket. Hopefully it's a phase, since he used to enjoy it.
In addition to each other, they've started to show an interest in toys. Here are some of their current favorites...
They each got a Soothe & Glow Seahorse, which lights up and plays music
The Ocean Adventure Activity Gym Aunt Elena bought them continues to be one of their favorite spots to hang out.
The Winkle is a big hit with both babies, but Malcolm especially seems to really dig it.
And, we broke down and bought Sophie, the $17 French rubber giraffe that looks like a dog toy, is the most highly reviewed and purchased baby toy on Amazon, and is all the rage right now. Rumor has it that babies just love her. Lucinda seems to like her well enough for now, but I suspect she'll be a bigger hit when they really start teething.
We also got high chairs (at a great price on clearance!). We probably won't start solid food for a couple of months, and hopefully by then, they'll have grown into the chairs a bit! Malcolm didn't really know what to make of his new seat.
Along with all this fun, we've unfortunately been dealing with some sleep regression issues, especially at naptime, and especially with Malcolm. He's been fighting his naps, along with lots of crying, unless he's being held or he's in the swing. He's also been going through a major growth spurt, so they may be related. Either way, we hope it's over soon.
Grandma and Pap Ross are coming to visit for the July 4th weekend. We haven't seen them since early May, and the babies have changed so much since then! On Tuesday, they'll be 4 months old! I can't believe how fast time is going...
