Eight Months

Malcolm and Lucinda are eight months old!

They are getting so big!  We've had a very busy month, with lots of visitors.

Other exciting things have happened this month, too:
  • they got a new bathtub!
  • they learned to hold their own bottles!
  • they've been eating finger foods!

At eight months, Malcolm Walter...

  • weighs about 21 pounds
  • wears 12 month clothes, and size 3 diapers.
  • sleeps through the night, and takes three naps a day.
  • eats 32 oz of formula a day, plus three solid meals.  He still likes everything he tries, and especially enjoys avocado, Cheerios and pears.
  • is really good with his hands, including picking up finger foods.
  • loves to bang things together and drop things on the floor to see what happens.

  • has four teeth!
  • is working on crawling, and is very frustrated that he hasn't gotten it yet.
  • loves to blow raspberries.

  • loves to sit with a basket of small toys, taking each one out one by one and studying it.  Matt calls him the "little professor"
  • loves his mom.  Cries when I leave the room and reaches out his arms to be picked up.  So far, the only place he has successfully crawled is into my lap.
At eight months, Lucinda Jean...

  • weighs about 16 pounds
  • still wears 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers.  We think she's been going through a growth spurt, so maybe she'll finally be in her 6-9 month clothes soon.
  • sleeps through the night and takes two naps a day.  She's always the first one up in the morning, and unfortunately thinks we should all be up by 5:30 most mornings.
  • eats 28-32 oz of formula a day, plus three solid meals.  She loves finger foods, especially bananas coated in Cheerio dust, brocolli, and white beans.
  • is crawling all over the place, and getting really fast!
  • is starting to pull up!
  • just really started babbling, and can say "dada"
  • loves to splash around in the bath.
  • is always on the go.  She has so much energy and so much to do.  And she thinks she's hilarious.  She cracks herself (and us) up daily.
