Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!
We have so much to be thankful for.... our marriage, our home, our health, our jobs, our families, and these two wonderful, happy, thriving children who bring us so much joy.

I had to make new turkey shirts this year, since
Malcolm & Lucinda have grown so much since last Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania this year.  We had our Thanksgiving meal on Friday, so Uncle Adam and Aunt Julia could join us after having turkey on Thursday with her family.  That freed our little family up on Thursday to stop in Altoona on our way to Pittsburgh to spend some time with Matt's grandparents and his Aunt Sharon.

Unfortunately, Malcolm sabotaged my effort to get a nice photo of the kids and their great grandparents, and this is the best I could do.

After lunch in Altoona, we got back in the car and headed for Pittsburgh.  Everything seemed to be going perfectly, and both kids were asleep within 10 minutes.  With two hours to go, they'd get a good nap in and be ready to get up when we got to Matt's parents' house.  The next thing we knew, we were on the side of the road cleaning up massive amounts of vomit.  Ah, the joys of parenthood.  Seems Lucinda's lunch didn't sit well with her in the moving car, but once we got her cleaned up and her carseat as clean as we could manage with paper towels and baby wipes, we loaded back up and got back on the road.  Lack of naps aside (Malcolm of course woke up in all the commotion), by the time we got to Grandma and Pap's house, they were both in good spirits.

On Friday morning, while the turkey was roasting, we headed to Soergel's Orchard where the kids had a blast feeding the goats and sheep, and playing on the pirate ship and in the miniature houses.

Then it was time for the main event.  Grandma cooked a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner, and it was wonderful to spend the holiday with Grandma, Pap, Aunt Linda, Uncle Adam and Aunt Julia.

We woke up on Saturday to snow, so spent much of the day in our pajamas.

A fun Saturday afternoon at an indoor play place, and a generally successful dinner out with the kids wrapped up our trip.  We had a great time, and the kids had a blast!
