A Visit to the North Pole

Since Thanksgiving, we've been reading lots of books about Christmas, listening to lots of Christmas music, and talking about all things Christmas.  For weeks now, both kids have been telling us that Santa says "ho ho ho!".  When asked what Santa is going to bring at Christmas, Lucinda says "pie!"  Specifically, she'll tell you, "apple pie."  She also named her Elf on the Shelf "Apple."  We're hoping she's just sticking with a theme, and doesn't think her elf is headed to the pie factory.

Today we took them to see Santa and Mrs. Claus in Old Town.  While we waited in line, they were bouncing up and down with excitement.  They kept pointing and waiving to Santa, saying "ho ho ho" and Lucinda was jabbering on about santa and apple pie.  Then it was our turn.  Excitement turned to tears, and they would only sit with me, so here's our 2012 Santa picture:

After Santa, we had a nice lunch out with Uncle Adam and Aunt Julia to celebrate their exciting news - Malcolm and Lucinda are getting a cousin!  They're expecting a girl in May.  We're incredibly excited for them, and I know the kids are going to love having a cousin!
