Tuesday (Day 4) of our Disney Trip took us to EPCOT. We weren't sure how much the kids would want to do there, so we planned to spend just the morning there with them, and then come back to the hotel to swim and rest. We had booked a babysitter for the afternoon and evening and planned a date night. That turned out to be a great plan. At this point in the trip, the kids were beat.
We got to EPCOT early for Extra Magic Hours so it was really empty and we were able to walk onto pretty much everything we did there. While we waited for Malcolm and Matt to find a bathroom, Lucinda and I got some pictures in front of the big ball. Ignore her grump face; she was worried about where her daddy and brother had gone.
We rode Spaceship Earth - the ride in the big ball about the evolution of technology - and that was interesting, and then headed for The Land. We were most excited about Soarin' - a simulated hang glider ride over California. It was amazing. We all loved it. Lucinda also really liked Living with the Land, a little boat ride through the greenhouses where we learned about plants and such. That girl can never get enough leaves and plants. We also watched the Timon and Pumba movie about conservation, which was okay, but a little heavy handed. Finally, we rode the Nemo ride, which was cute and we all liked it. We were going to do Turtle Talk with Crush before leaving, but the line was long and we were all cranky and tired, so we called it a day and headed back to the Wilderness Lodge for lunch and swimming.
Before we came to Disney, Malcolm was terrified of swimming. He would hang out in the baby pool, or cling to the side of the shallowest end of the big pool but he totally refused to let go and swim, even with his puddle jumper. But it took about 20 seconds of watching kids go down the water slide at Wilderness Lodge to turn him into a champion swimmer! He must have gone down this water slide at least 100 times while we were there, and by the end of the week was paddling all around the pool all by himself. We are so proud of him for overcoming his fear and being such a brave swimmer!
After swimming, we cleaned up and their babysitter arrived. We booked her through Kids Nite Out, and she came to our hotel room and hung out there with the kids. She was a very nice, older lady and she took great care of them while we got some much needed adult time. We look the bus back to EPCOT and hit the world showcase, eating, drinking and shopping our way around the world until we got to Mexico, where we had dinner reservations with a view of Illuminations (the fireworks show). We had a blast! And a lot of margaritas!
Matt was so excited about all the Star Wars stuff everywhere!

A beautiful end to a great day!
