Show Us Something Special That You Can Do!

Among M&L's current obsessions is Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, an adorable cartoon "spin-off" of sorts of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, which was one of my favorites.  I love this show.  It addresses all of the major fears, social skills, manners, routines, etc. that preschoolers face and is full of great, catchy little songs like "clean up, pick up, put away... clean up, every day!" that get my kids to do stuff I want them to do and think they're having fun!

The very first episode we watched is about how everyone is special, just the way they are.  The preschool animal kids have a talent show, and for each one, they sing this little song: "Hey Daniel Tiger! How do you do?  Show us something special that you can do!"

This weekend, Lucinda started singing this to each member of the family in turn at dinner, and then waiting for us to do something special.  I caught it on video tonight.  I love that when it's her turn, her "something special" is to count to 10 backwards.  So she turns backwards in her chair and counts from 1 to 10.  I love this age.
