Super Saturday

We woke up with no plans, but we sure changed that!  We had such a fun day!  After a quick breakfast of scrambled eggs, cinnamon toast and plums, we hit the road for Baltimore, and the National Aquarium.

Malcolm & Lucinda loved all the fish, turtles, and birds.  They also loved the escalators.  That may have been their favorite part.

After a fun-filled morning at the Aquarium, we grabbed lunch at Panera and loaded back into the car, planning to head for home.  They both fell asleep, and since we wanted them to nap for a bit longer than it would take us to get home, we kept going and drove out to Leesburg to check out the Leesburg Animal Park, a combination of a (very) small zoo and a petting zoo.

Malcolm was in heaven.  Lucinda prefers to keep some space between herself and unruly animals, so she enjoyed looking at them from a safe distance.  But Malcolm really thought this place was the bees knees.  He just plopped himself down in the dirt and decided a goofy looking pygmy goat was his new best friend.

{Malcolm's signing "bird" at a passing chicken (not picking his nose)}

We finally headed home around 3, played for a bit, and had dinner together as a family (something we're trying to do more often).  I had made chocolate pudding last night for Matt and me, and saved a bit for the kids to practice eating with their spoons.  After this, it was straight into the bathtub for these two :)
