Grandpa and Grandma have been living in Florida for a few months now, and drove up to visit us last weekend. It's a much shorter trip than when they came from Saudi Arabia right after the kids were born.... They brought Lucinda and Malcolm a two-person phone that you can hear through - very cool. Lucinda especially thought it was really neat.
We also read lots of stories together.
On Sunday morning, we went to the National Zoo. This was our first visit where the kids really "got" the zoo. They were so excited to go see the "maminals". The biggest hit by far was the small mammal house.

The best part was when Malcolm found his spirit animal -- this meerkat. He and Lucinda both chased it back and forth around the enclosure, laughing and squealing in delight, until they (and the meerkat) were completely out of breath. It was hilarious! A stranger even made a video of them. I'm pretty sure the meerkat was actively playing with them.
Since we came back, they have not stopped talking about how they chased the meerkat and "it runned".
We also watched a lot of the Masters and discovered that Malcolm and Lucinda like golf. They especially liked cheering for all the players, and named them based on what color shirt they were wearing -- "go green guy! go blue guy!" The only one who's name they could remember was Tiger, and when he came on the screen, he was greeted with "go red guy! tiger! roar!"
Thanks for a fun visit, Grandma and Grandpa! We hope you come back soon!
