We were all excited when our neighbors invited us to go camping with them last month at Jellystone Park in Hagerstown. Lucinda called Mimi and told her "we're going camping with the Camerons. They're usually just called William and Alison, but when you go camping you call them the Camerons." :)
Jellystone is a Yogi Bear themed campground, with tent sites, RV sites and cabins. We weren't quite up for tent camping, and since the llamas are still too young for bunk beds that ruled out some of the smaller cabins. So we ended up staying in a two-bedroom cabin with a full bathroom and kitchen. It was more "glamping" than camping, but we still the best parts - hiking, cooking and eating outside, campfires, and of course roasting marshmallows.
They also had arts and crafts for the kids and other activities throughout the day. The biggest hit with the kids was the "Boo Boo bounce" - a giant inflatable jumping pillow. They loved it, and it was nice that they had early morning jumping hours for just the little kids.
William and Alison braved the zip line, too.
The weather was great all weekend. If anything it was a little hot for mid-April. They have a really big pool with water slides and a splash zone, but it wasn't open yet. No worries, though. We all had a great weekend being outside, unplugged and together with good friends
