In early May, we headed up to Pittsburgh to celebrate Taylor's second birthday and visit Grandma and Pap. We had a great weekend stuffed with cupcakes, family an fun.
We took Friday off work and drove up that morning, making a special stop in Altoona to have lunch with Matt's grandparents. It was wonderful to spend some time visiting with them.
Then it was off to Pittsburgh!
We arrived mid-afternoon and Grandma had set up an Easter Egg hunt in the backyard for Malcolm, Lucinda and Taylor. The kids had a blast collecting eggs and showing Taylor how it's done!
Uncle Adam and Aunt Julia came over after work for dinner, followed by delicious (and messy!) cupcakes to celebrate Taylor's birthday.
The kids had a blast running around the front yard before bed, and generally shaking their sillies out with their cousin.
Saturday morning we headed into town to the Pittsburgh Children's Museum. We got there early, so it wasn't very crowded yet and we had so much fun. The rotating exhibit was an awesome inflatable rainbow tunnel.
They also had a blast climbing the ramp gym, building cars, and exploring all the exhibits.
We planned ahead this time and brought swimsuits so we could check out the top floor where they have water play activities. Once they accepted that they'd be getting wet, Lucinda and Malcolm had a blast splashing, spraying, and exploring all the fun activities.
After a quick lunch at the museum, it was time to party at Taylor's house! The kids loved the bouncy house and car races, while everyone enjoyed good food and drinks at Uncle Adam and Aunt Julia's new house.
It was such a fun weekend, and while we were sad to head home on Sunday, Grandma came with us to help out Daddy out while I was out of town for work.
