Three Months

Malcolm and Lucinda are three months old!

At three months, Malcolm Walter...

  • weighs 11 lbs. 11 oz.
  • wears size 0-3 clothes
  • eats six 5 oz. bottles a day
  • takes 3-4 naps a day
  • sleeps from 9pm until 8am at night, but is still waking up once around 3am to eat. Malcolm also usually wakes up between 5 and 6 am and gets lonely, so he convinces Mommy and Daddy to let him come snuggle with them in the big bed until it's time to get up for the day. He's very social, and doesn't like to be alone.
  • is houdini when it comes to getting out of his swaddle blanket, but still flaps around too much to sleep soundly unswaddled - the end is near though
  • is still our adorable, happy go lucky little boy, smiling all the time, and now he's starting to laugh!

    At three months, Lucinda Jean...

  • weighs 9 lbs. 8 oz.
  • wears size 0-3 clothes
  • eats six 4-4.5 oz bottles a day
  • takes 4 naps a day
  • sleeps from 9pm until 8am, also waking up once around 2am to eat. She also often wakes between 5 and 6 am and convinces Mommy and Daddy to let her play and sleep for a few more hours in her swing before breakfast.
  • loves to stick her little tongue out, and loves to copy our facial expressions
  • loves to wiggle and kick, especially in the bath
  • is still fussier than her brother, but she's smiling up a storm now, especially when you look into her crib and she sees you for the first time - she lights up and flashes her huge grin and melts your heart.

Neither baby is really into toys yet, but they are obsessed with their mobiles, and are just starting to bat at the toys dangling on their activity mat. We go for a walk most days, and they love getting out in the fresh air. They also love when we sing and dance for them, and seem to especially enjoy Matt's rendition of "head, shoulders, knees and toes". Swinging pretty much cures any problem either may be having (thanks again to Great Grandma Mueller for the swing!). They both love their nightly baths and seem to recognize their bedtime routine (bath, bottle, swaddle, book, bed). We've become pretty good at reading their cues now, and knowing what they want, which makes us all happier.

We're having a great time and can't believe they are already three months old!
