On Saturday, we went up to Uncle Todd and Aunt Wendie's house in Brookeville Maryland. Great Grandma Gadomski was there, along with Aunt Linda and Wendie's parents Jack and Ramona.
Before lunch, Pap and Malcolm enjoyed the beautiful fall weather while they explored the trees around Uncle Todd's house.
Then Malcolm tried out the big chairs Jack made last year.
Lucinda was feeling shy with all the new people, so she stayed tucked in close to Mama where she felt safe.
On Sunday, we headed into DC for the babies first trip to the National Zoo! My college roommate Sara was in town with her husband Bret and their two beautiful little girls, and we met up with them to see some lions, and tigers and monkeys. I didn't get many pictures at the zoo, since I was too busy catching up with Sara and Bret. Here's Lucinda watching the lions with her daddy.
The babies are still a bit young for the zoo, and didn't really notice the animals. Malcolm, however, loved the waterfall at the turtle exhibit, and the water misters along the walking path. Next time maybe we'll skip the zoo and try the water park instead! It was a lot hotter than we thought it would be, so the babies cooled off with some tailgaiting before we headed home for naptime.
Lucinda then enjoyed the messiest dinner ever.
Matt had today off for Columbus Day, so he got an extra day to spend with the babies. I worked from home, and from the downstairs office, it sounded like they were having a lot of fun! Late this afternoon, we all went to Home Depot to get paint for the babies' new playroom! More on that soon...
