Fourteen Months

Lucinda & Malcolm are 14 months old! 

I posted earlier this week about all the fun new things they've been learning.  It's amazing how fast they're picking stuff up now.  We don't go back to the pediatrician to be weighed and measured until next month, but I think they've both recently gone through a growth spurt.  Malcolm in particular seems to have gotten taller overnight.  He's wearing a mix of 18 month, 24 month, and 2T clothes now, and Lucinda's wearing a mix of 12 month and 18 month clothes.  Both are in size 4 diapers.  And they're both finally getting more hair!  Lucinda has some great little curls in the back, and a pretty sweet cowlick on top :)

Yesterday morning, after breakfast, I took them to Ben Brenman park.  We walked around the lake, and saw some baby geese (and practiced signing "bird").

Then we headed over to the playground.  We hadn't been there before - it was great!  Fully fenced in, small enough that I could keep an eye on both of them, and covered in that soft rubber stuff that they can't try to eat (unlike the mulch at our elementary school playground).   And we had it all to ourselves early on a Friday morning!  They had a blast!  Malcolm loved being able to show off his new running skills and ran back and forth across the playground for the first five minutes we were there, grinning from ear to ear.

While Malcolm ran his sillies out, Lucinda headed for the slide.  Malcolm joined her, and they both spent lots of time climbing up the slide and then letting go and sliding down on their bellies.

They decided they wanted to swing a bit, but there was only one swing, so they had to share.  They weren't really sure what to make of it, but in the end, their love of swinging won out over their dislike of sharing.

After the park, we headed into Old Town, walked around some more and then popped into "Wee Ones Story Time" at a local independent children's bookstore.  We had to leave a bit early since they were getting hungry for lunch (and because they kept pulling all the books off the shelves and running in opposite directions), but all in all, it was a great morning!
