Last Sunday, Matt had volunteered to judge a law school moot court compeittion, so the llamas and I were on our own for the morning. After they obliged me with a trip to my office to pick up some files, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and headed to Ben Brenman park.
I was a little nervous about going to the park because Malcolm was in underwear (new for him), but he did great! Except when he yelled from the top of the play strucuture "I have to go potty, Mama!" so we booked it out of there with a wailing Lucinda in tow (she was not ready to leave) and ran to the nearest bathroom where he sat on the potty for about 10 seconds before saying "no pee pee!" and leaping off. Lucinda was not impressed. But that gave us a good excuse to leave the playground and walk around the lake to see the ducks and turtles.
When we got over to the bridge, there were a ton of turtles out sunning themselves and swimming around, plus the usual gaggle of ducks. A little girl was nice enough to share soome of the bread she'd brought with Malcolm and Lucinda. Lucinda loved throwing it in the water and watching the ducks eat it up. Malcolm ate his piece himself :/
After we finished feeding the turtles, we decided we were having so much fun that we would stay for lunch at the local restaurant just in time for Matt to meet us there. Such a fun morning and so nice to be back outside after the long, cold winter we had!
