We had a special treat on Easter weekend when our friends Kristi and Ben decided to come down from Buffalo with their kids for the weekend. We hadn't seen them in over a year and hadn't yet met their son who's almost two (or seen their daughter in almost three years), so we were super excited to see them. We all spent a fun morning at the National Zoo checking out the animals, and Malcolm and Lucinda got to introduce their new friends to their buddies the meerkats.
Strangely, the biggest hit with both kids seemed to be this fossilized replica of elephant poop.
Three year olds are weird...
Do you like Malcolm's ridiculous smile these days?
This is what I always get if I ask him to smile.
On our way out, we rode the carousel!
Much to Malcolm's delight, he was able to snag the meerkat.
And Lucinda was pretty pleased with her panda
(the National Zoo has a new baby panda, so pandas are a hot commodity around here).
