Banishing the Grump

For weeks now, Lucinda has been battling a monster we've named "The Grump." The Grump would get her after eating, making her scream and cry, arching her back and kicking her feet. This was especially fun at 3 in the morning. The Grump also prevented her from laying down flat on her back, which would inevitably lead to major screaming and spit-up. This meant she couldn't sleep in her crib, so we bought a Fisher-Price Rock-n-Play, and she's been sleeping in that every night for the past few weeks. We hated seeing her so uncomfortable and were hoping she would outgrow The Grump quickly.

On Friday, we decided it was time to see the pediatrician about banishing The Grump once and for all. He diagnosed her with reflux, and prescribed Zantac. She's been taking it for three days now, and is a totally different baby! She's happy and playful, and even smiled at her daddy for the first time yesterday. And right now, she's napping in her crib! Yeah, Lucinda!

Hopefully The Grump is gone for good and we get our beautiful, happy little girl back!



In other news, she weighed 7 lb. 12 oz. on Friday, one day shy of 6 weeks old.
