Here Comes Santa Claus...

Malcolm and Lucinda went to visit Santa this morning! This year they understand a lot about Christmas, and about Santa, and have been getting really into the whole thing.

Lucinda was VERY excited to go see Santa and tell him that she'd been good and wanted a baby doll, and Malcolm was getting into it as well.  The morning started off with a note from a new elf, Holly, who had stopped by to help our elf, Apple, down from where he'd gotten himself stuck playing in the shower the day before.  Holly brought Malcolm and Lucinda jingle bells since she knew they'd be going to see her friend Santa later that day.  Lucinda in particular thought her jingle bell was just the greatest thing ever.

They got dressed up in their Christmas clothes (after some strategic bribing of Malcolm) and were cooperative enough that I was even able to snap a few pictures at home before we headed out for the main event.

Okay, clearly they're over my photo shoot now and ready to go see Santa...

I wasn't sure what to expect this year.  The past two years' Santa visits have resulted in hilarious, crying photos (see here and here), which I love.  But this year I wondered if we might have turned the corner toward liking Santa.  Turns out I was half right...

Ha!  My twin mom guilt wouldn't allow me to get only pictures with Lucinda in them, so I drug Malcolm over kicking and screaming for one quick shot.  Lucinda did really well.  She wasn't 100% sure of herself, but she sat on his lap all by herself, told Santa she'd been good this year, and agreed with daddy when he suggested to Santa that she might like baby dolls for Christmas.

She was also very happy that Santa gave her an extra reindeer toy for her brother, even though he didn't want anything do do with Santa and was, at this point, screaming and making a beeline for the door.

Taylor came along to meet Santa, too.  How cute is she?!?

Afterwards we had lunch with Uncle Adam, Aunt Julia and Taylor before heading home to nap (M&L), hang the outdoor Christmas lights (daddy) and bake Christmas cookies (mama) as we get ready for a house full of holiday visitors starting next weekend.
