Fifteen Months

Lucinda and Malcolm are 15 months old!!

These two are into everything!  They've gotten so fast and agile, and they are always on the lookout for some sort of silliness to get into.

New"ish" skills include:
  • throwing and kicking a ball
  • going down the slide alone
  • climbing up and down stairs on their own
  • stacking blocks
  • following simple instructions
Current obsessoins
  • music (current favorites include Raffi, Madonna, and "if you're happy and you know it")
  • balls
  • slides
  • putting things on their heads, on each other's heads, and on our heads...
  • Baby Signing Time
  • bubbles
  • goldfish crackers
At 15 months, Lucinda Jean...

  • weighs 20 lbs 12.5 oz (43rd percentile)
  • is 30.75 inches tall (57th percentile)
  • has a head circumference of 18 inches (51st percentile)
  • wears 12 month and 18 month clothes, size 4 diapers and size 4.5 shoes.

  • Lucinda has quite a few words - dada, mama, cat, dog, ball, "dis" (meaning "what's this?" as she points); she imitates sounds she hears, and can quack like a duck and make monkey sounds
  • loves her stuffed friends.  Favorites are Blue Dog, "buddy" the flat soft dog, and cookie monster
  • likes to rub her food all over her head.  I try not to laugh, since I don't want to encourage her, but she makes it pretty hard.

At 15 months, Malcolm Walter...

  • weighs 26 lbs 5 oz (90th percentile)
  • is 32.5 inches tall (90th percentile)
  • has a head circumference of 19 inches (86th percentile)
  • wears 24 month and 2T(!) clothes, size 5 diapers, and size 5.5 shoes

  • Malcolm's had an explosion of new signs in the past few weeks, including mama, please, more, soap, brushing teeth, bath, shoes, ball, and more.  He's combining signs, to say "more milk" for example.  He's started to sign "all done" whenever he doesn't want to do something -- like during diaper changes, or when he wants to get out of the car.
  • Malcolm has a couple words - mama, and the occasionally dada or cat
  • loves his toy eggs, his broom, and his new truck that Mimi brought him last weekend.
There's lots of whining most days resulting from stealing toys and competing with each other for attention, but tonight, as they were going to bed, I asked Malcolm if he wanted to say good-night to Lucinda.  He toddled over to her, leaned his nose into hers and gave her a kiss, then started clapping.  He was so excited about it that he did it twice more.  I love these kids so much.
